Automatic shutdown...at 1 pm?

I'm sure you know what I'm talking about-you get on your computer, it's about 10 pm and suddenly you look back up at the clock and it's about 2 am. Between facebook and youtube and who knows what else you're going to feel totally wasted tomorrow. Well, maybe that's not you-but I end up doing this all the time.

So last week, I decided enough is enough! This isn't going to happen anymore. I decided to set my computer to automatically turn off at 1 am to combat by complete lack of self control. This was surprisingly easy! No messing around with registries and awkward text files. If you're on a Mac or using Linux, I'm afraid you're just going to have to Google it for yourself.

Of course for the week after, it didn't seem to be working-again I would found myself online way past the 1 am mark. I had no idea what I had done wrong...that is until I was working on my computer this afternoon and at precisely 1 pm a message box pops up, warning me that my computer would be shutting off in about a minute.

Ah.

So it works perfectly if you're not an idiot...
